Research on new optical functional property combining photoirradiation, electric field, and magnetic field

Is it possible to control physical property by applying photoirradiation and an electric field (sometimes a magnetic field)?

Our goal is to convert insulators into metals or superconductors by photoirradiation or by a combination of photoirradiation and application of electric fields. We are also investigating whether it is possible to freely control ionic conduction characteristics of ionic conductors using photoirradiation and applies electric field. At present we are considering the materials like organic conductors (organic charge transfer complex), and inorganic ionic conductors such as silver iodide.
